Wrapped Celo (wCELO) is an ERC20 token, representing a 1:1 share of Celo (wCELO) on Ethereum. Through Wrapped, institutions get easy, secure DeFi participation with a growing number of layer one protocols, while maintaining exposure to those protocols themselves.

The Celo protocol itself was built as a faster, more scalable ‘side chain’ of Ethereum. Now, with wCELO, there’s a simple, secure bridge to Ethereum’s DeFi ecosystem. Bridging layer one protocols with the DeFi space also has a net positive effect on market stability.
