Thrive On Mars was founded in early 2021 by Hunter Stanchak. He started his career as a creative engineer at Apple, helping launch products such as the Apple Watch, iPad Pro, and Apple Music. He was the creative director of global brand design at Magic Leap, an augmented reality company with $2.6 billion in funding.

Hunter started Thrive On Mars with the goal of designing a comprehensive Mars simulation with cutting-edge technology, accurate resource systems, and a visually compelling story. He hopes that this game will inspire people to become explorers and pioneers of the final frontier and open more doors to the space industry.
